Lachlan is a graduate of Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. He majored in International Studies with a focus on Cambodia, History and Genocide. Upon first learning about the Khmer Rouge as a teenager, Lachlan became fascinated with the period and its tragic events. A regular visitor to the country, he was able to focus on the topic at university and eventually complete an undergraduate thesis about the targeting of minorities under the Pol Pot regime in comparison with events taking place in Myanmar. Following this he worked with the Documentation Centre of Cambodia in the 'Genocide Education Program' at the end of 2018.
